Pakistan's 1st E-Community of Human Purpose!
Azad Kashmir Association of the Blind Founded in 2000 in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, by Professor Ilyas Ayoub — a visually impaired educator — The institution is a pioneering non-profit dedicated to empowering blind and visually impaired individuals through education, technology, and dignity-centered support.
The organization provides free education, accommodation, meals, uniforms, and transportation to students from all backgrounds. With the help of assistive tools like Braille and JAWS (Job Access With Speech), learners gain the skills needed to succeed academically and socially. Facilities include libraries, prayer rooms, and recreational spaces, creating a nurturing environment for holistic development.
Over the years, the institution has helped more than 150 students complete their matriculation, with many excelling in academics and blind cricket. Its proven model of inclusion has inspired researchers, with several PhD studies conducted on its impact.
