The Milestone Society for Special Persons was established in March 1993 by individuals with disabilities, with a vision to help them become self-sufficient and contribute meaningfully to their families and the nation. Registered in August 1996 with the Department of Social Welfare, this pioneering organization has since become a leader in disability empowerment.

Its mission centers on promoting independent living, inclusive education, and creating a barrier-free society. Through awareness campaigns, capacity-building programs, and access to basic facilities, Society empowers persons with disabilities to become honorable citizens and valuable members of society.

Under the leadership of Mr. Shafique-Ur-Rehman, the 13th President, the organization continues to grow and innovate. Notably, Society has earned recognition for producing the largest number of customized wheelchairs in Pakistan, having distributed approximately 135,000 manual and custom-fitted wheelchairs nationwide.

Over the years, its impactful work has inspired academic research, with many students completing PhDs and studies on its model. Today, Society for Special Persons remains a trusted platform dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for persons with disabilities — regardless of gender, creed, or socioeconomic background.
